Dypius Integrates Chainlink VRF, Automation & Price Feeds to Help Power Random Gameplay Experiences, Automated Staking Rewards & Secure Data
On 22.06.2021, we integrated Chainlink Price Feeds into the Dypius ecosystem to secure our ETH and BNB data values in a decentralized manner, we needed access to fresh asset prices that are supplied directly on-chain in a highly reliable manner. By doing so, we were able to secure yield farming data.
In support of the continued growth and maturation of our decentralized infrastructure, we have now expanded our integration with Chainlink to VRF & Automation as well. By also integrating Chainlink VRF & Automation, we can help offer World of Dypians players unpredictable gaming experiences, highly reliable, performant, decentralized automation and high-quality data.
Through a combination of Chainlink VRF, Automation & Price Feeds we were able to save over 250 engineering hours and $1700+ in user gas fees.
The Continued Growth of Dypius Through Chainlink Service Support

Securing World of Dypians With Chainlink VRF
To provide World of Dypians players with captivating and unpredictable gaming experiences, as well as a fair and transparent platform, we required a secure random number generator (RNG) that could be independently audited by any user. However, generating RNGs for smart contracts entails multiple security challenges to prevent manipulation and safeguard system integrity. For instance, RNGs derived from blockchain data like block hashes can be vulnerable to manipulation by miners/validators, whereas off-chain RNGs relying on off-chain APIs lack transparency and do not offer users conclusive proof of the integrity of the process.
Upon careful evaluation of different options, we opted for Chainlink VRF due to its foundation on state-of-the-art academic research, backed by a well-established oracle network, and fortified through the creation and on-chain authentication of cryptographic proofs that validate the authenticity of every random number furnished to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The World of Dypians smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the outcomes of in-game events and enemy encounters are provably fair and were not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the World of Dypians team.
Expanding Dypius With Chainlink Automation
With the help of Chainlink Automation on a time-based chron job, we were able to establish an efficient and reliable ecosystem for automatic distribution of staking rewards to their corresponding staking contracts. This approach eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures that rewards are disbursed punctually and accurately, providing peace of mind to all parties involved. Such automation not only streamlines the process but also minimizes the risk of any errors or delays. The resulting ecosystem is highly dependable, and guarantees a seamless and hassle-free experience for all users.
